Haha. Didn’t think you’d hear from me again, did ya’? The truth is that I was already well on my way to learning a little more about figure drawing, and all that other stuff, but unfortunately got a little sidetracked…

Yes, sidetracked. A friend commissioned me to do this book about vehicle designs for his science fiction universe. I gladly accepted the job, thinking the darn job would only take a week. Three whole weeks later, and I’m still not finished!

The most difficult thing was trying to develop my slipshod design skills. I read some books, read some interviews from real concept designers to find some inspiration, and many have agreed that designing stuff for something, even for sci-fi has to be grounded for it to be more believable to the audience. That’s probably why I didn’t go all out and start drawing hovercars and giant laser guns… Oh well, we’ll see if the client wants my stuff. Hehe.

Hopefully when all of this is over, I can resume my studies

In other news, I decided to reopen a blog I had closed down a year ago (don’t ask why). Some of you may have heard of it – The blog formerly known as StudioMMG is now Roboculture. Why? Beats me! But if you wanted to know a little more about that 1985 animated mecha soap opera series then go on and drop by. I suppose I’ll post once in a while.
